Biography
Jesse Hall
Acoustic Guitar
If Jesse Hall could meet anyone in Scripture, it would be: "Peter. He is the most similar to me in that I see that I am dedicated one minute, and the next minute, I'm falling on my face." Jesse explains, "He strikes me as the kind who speaks before he thinks, just blurts things out without giving any thought to it. When he pulls out his sword, I see his anger, and his actions contrary to God's plan. He is impulsive, rash, and yet, passionate. The qualities and the character are there, but they need to be harnessed by the Lord for His use." And so is the 23-year-old acoustic guitar-player for Eyeris.
"Growing up as a 'PK' [Pastor's Kid], I constantly had opportunities. Like Peter, I was always rash to say 'yes', but I was always learning, over and over again, what it meant to be a Christian. Growing older, I realized that my convictions had to be my own. Decision after decision, God was always working on my heart."
Originally born in Omaha, Nebraska, Jesse's father was called into the ministry while Jesse was a toddler. That brought the family to the Northern Virginia area, with his father attending Capital Bible Seminary, and later, accepting a call to pastor Gunston Bible Church in Lorton, Virginia. And it was there, years later, that Jesse would meet up with Jamey Payne. As their friendship grew, Jesse would "beg him to try new hobbies." One of those new hobbies was to learn to play the guitar, which led to the formation of the band.
"I started fiddling with the piano - my mom plays - but guitar was my first serious instrument." Jesse first learned to play the guitar as a hobby, but later, he realized that he could use his new-found ability to serve the Lord. So, he developed his skill by playing on the worship team at church. "We tried to learn by going through the songs at music practice and playing along."
Now, a more polished guitar-player and songwriter, Jesse treasures the friendships he has gained, and calls them his favorite part of being a member of Eyeris.
