Biography

Wade Stadig

Bass

Wade Stadig, a 21-year-old bass player, originally hails from Sioux Falls, South Dakota. He and his brother Paul grew up in a military family, and therefore, moved around whenever their father finished up an assignment somewhere. Eventually, his tour of duty would lead the family to northern Virginia, where they met up with the members of Eyeris. Wade recalls the first time he met the group: "We went over to Gunston Bible Church to pick up our friend Joel, the original keyboard player, and he introduced us to Jamey and Jesse. We got interested in playing in the band."

At the time, Wade had not been keen on playing a musical instrument. As he recalled, "I played recorder in the third or fourth grade, just like everyone, but I didn't really ever try to play anything else." However, after the band started, he and his brother were given a guitar as a joint Christmas present. With three guitar players already in the band, Wade was cajoled by the group to play bass instead. "I really wanted to play bass."

Since that time, Wade has enjoyed the friendship and fellowship of the band, and finds that to be the best part of being a member of Eyeris. His most rewarding experience? "Leading worship at the DCLA Conference a couple of years ago. I loved getting to encourage the young people there in their Christian walk."

Asked about his personal relationship with Christ, Wade says: "I don't really remember a specific time [of conversion], growing up in a Christian family. There was nothing dramatic; I just grew up as a Christian. The first time I remember making a confession of faith was with my first-grade teacher at Augusta Christian School in Georgia."

When Wade is not playing with Eyeris his life is spent in the realm of computers, working as a network administrator for U.S. Customs and Border Protection.
